Phosa to chair MIO

African National Congress treasurer-general Mathews Phosa will become chairperson of the board of the Motor Industry Ombudsman of SA, an MIO statement said on Tuesday.He succeeds Theo Swart, a former executive chairperson and managing director of McCarthy Motor Holdings, who will stay on the advisory board of the MIO.
Phosa, who has been a member of the MIO advisory board since 2006, intends focusing on consumer education.
The MIO's purpose is to resolve disputes where a deadlock has been reached between the motor and related industries and their customers, its website said.
