Electricity use down 4%
Mon, 30 Jun 2008
South Africans have only managed to reduce their electricity use by four percent, Minerals and Energy Minister Buyelwa Sonjica said on Friday. Speaking after the first meeting of the National Stakeholder Advisory Council on Electricity, Sonjica said it was "imperative" that demand be brought down further. "Otherwise inclement weather could cause a shortfall in the coming weeks, while the major users, mostly in the minerals value chain, will continue to bear the burden of the emergency in the form of reduced supply."MORE SA HEADLINES
