Responsibilities


The principal responsibilities of the Financial Accountant are to:
  • Monitor the budgets to identify variances and report accordingly.
  • Assist in the preparation of management information system consistent with the requirements of the in-house users and the standards established by the function.
  • Maintain management accounts and analyses.
  • Contribute to the matching of costs with activities that will enable the responsible budget holders to be accountable for financial outcomes.
  • Contribute to the ongoing improvement in work processes, competencies and financial systems.
  • Manage and oversee the process of reconciliation and process month end creditors and assigned payments accurately and obtain necessary authorization for payment.
  • Verify all transactions for compliance with CNBC Africa’s financial policies and procedures.
  • Ensuring that all journal posting are properly document and reflected in accounting ledger.
  • Continuously monitor and review transaction flows and promote process improvements.
  • Ensuring timely issue of invoices ad month end statements to debtors.
  • Maintain database pertaining to accounts payable.
  • Maintain database pertaining to accounts receivable.
  • Managing the reconciliation of petty cash with the bill of receipt and the relevant account code.
  • Manage the payroll master file (General Ledger) in conjunction with information and instructions received from Administration and Human Resources Department.
  • Record the accruals for end of service benefits and leave salaries for the organization.
  • Manage cash and coordinate the transfer of salary funds to the bank.
  • Produce management information reports as requested.
  • Ensuring that all reconciliation are done and properly filed.
  • Fixed Asset register maintenance according to IFRS.
  • Contribute to the timely preparation of annual budgets.
  • Monthly/Daily cash management.
  • Full understanding of Cashbook, bank reconciliations.
  • Monthly submissions to SARS in respect of VAT
  • Preparation of year end Audit file
  • Preparation of the monthly audit file
  • Any other task as assigned by the Finance Manager or his/her delegate from time to time


    Skill and Experience Requirements

  • Preferably a B Com or equivalent qualification.
  • Previous experience on the Syspro financial system be an added advantage.
  • Experience in finance issues.
  • Good people skills .
  • Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
