You ultimately understand what journalists want – and get the tools to deal with TV interviews.

We identify the strengths and weaknesses of every company spokesperson. You know what is needed to be your company’s most effective communicator on television.

HALF-DAY COURSE OUTLINE (8.00 -12.00 / 4 hours)

Theory:

  • The current South African media landscape
  • Understanding journalists and news values
  • Preparing for an on-camera interview
  • Dealing with the “hostile” interview
  • Handling difficult questions
  • The art of the sound bite
  • Different types of TV interviews & appearances
  • Body language and appearance for TV

    Practical:

  • Understanding the “live” TV environment – the studio, the lights
  • “Live” TV and radio interviews with each candidate
  • A playback session with critiquing and open discussion
  • Using the feedback to better advantage – the do’s & don’ts

    At the end of the half-day course candidates will have a deep understanding of the current media landscape and how to handle themselves in a both a TV and radio interview.
