“The FCO advise against all but essential travel to Mombasa and within 5 kilometres of the coast from Mtwapa creek in the north to Tiwi in the south. This area does not include Diani or Moi international airport,” said the FCO in a travel advice statement.

They further stated that if people have no essential reason to remain in the warning zone region, they should leave the area.
The Moi International Airport in Mombasa can still be accessed however the FCO has warned that people should avoid travelling through Mombasa Island to access the airport.
FCO stated that the United Kingdom is working with Kenyan authorities to strengthen their capacity to investigate, prosecute and detain terrorists.
