SacOil appoints Sasol’s Damain Matroos as CFO

Oil and gas company, SacOil has appointed Damain Matroos as its chief financial officer, with effect from 1 February 2015.

Matroos worked for Sasol for six years, where he first held the position of general manager for group corporate finance.

He is currently Sasol’s vice president for corporate finance and is responsible for mergers and acquisition.

He will be taking over from Tariro Mudzimuirema, who is currently SacOil Holdings’ acting finance director. She will be returning to the position of financial manager of the company.

Thabo Kgogo, chief executive officer of SacOil, said, “Damain’s appointment is a valuable addition to the executive team and joins SacOil at an exciting time as we build a leading pan-African oil and gas company.”

“On behalf of the board, I would like to thank Tariro for the dedication, hard work and professionalism during the interim period,” he added.
