Telkom customers are stressed after its Centurion data centre experienced a network switch failure early this morning.
The company acknowledged that the failure was impacting on services to customers.

“As a result of the failure, internet and other online services are impacted,” said the company in a statement.
“Telkom customer contact centres and shops are currently offline. Customers will also not be able to complete Telkom transactions, including airtime and top-up purchases, and bank payment transactions until the service is restored.”
Jacqui O’ Sullivan, head of group communications and PR said the company was working to resolve full service.

“Technicians are hard at work to restore full service. We apologise for the inconvenience our customers will be experiencing. We understand this is a frustrating situation and we have prioritised this for urgent resolution,” said O’Sullivan.
“We will issue an update via media and Telkom social media and inform our customers when the service has been restored.”
