Stephen Gunnion joined CNBC Africa in April 2009.

He has presented the programs Open Exchange and Power Lunch since his start with the channel enjoying intense debate with guests whose views differ and interviewing guests whose views have the potential to move markets. Gunnion has also presented feature shows like Africa's Boardroom and The Derivative Debate.

His daily work includes keeping abreast of all market, economic and corporate news.

Previously Gunnion held the position of economics editor at the SABC and financial services/markets editor at Business Day. He spent a year in London working at the Investors Chronicle (the world’s oldest investment magazine) writing about the transport, aerospace & defense and engineering sectors.
