China's rising role in Africa, amid global slowdown

China's GDP has maintained a steady rate of 6.7 per cent for the third quarter in a row, despite earlier projections that it would slow down to 6.6 per cent towards the end of the year, and 6.5 per cent in 2017. The stability of the East Asian economy amid downward pressure due to slowdown in global demand could mean that China's presence in the Sub-Saharan Africa is likely to advance.
