FORBES WOMAN AFRICA has won its first award at the SAB Environmental Media & Environmentalist of the Year Awards 2016 this morning. The magazine is celebrating its third birthday this month.

FORBES WOMAN AFRICA photojournalist Jay Caboz scooped the Merit Award for Written Media for the cover story he did on Africa’s Blue Economy in the August/September 2016 issue of the magazine published during Women’s month.

This in-depth feature on the ocean economy unlocked Africa’s next untapped frontier. For his story, Caboz spoke to female entrepreneurs in the ocean industry connected to everything from fisheries to corals to conservation.

FORBES WOMAN AFRICA is a bi-monthly magazine published by the ABN Group which profiles women in leadership and business across Africa. The October/November 2016 issue of the magazine in stores now features Oscar-winning Kenyan actress Lupita Nyong’o.
