Retired Deputy Chief Justice, Dikgang Moseneke, will be the arbitrator in the ongoing dispute between the state and the families who suffered in the tragic Life Esidimeni Tragedy. At least 110 psychiatric patients died between March and December 2016 after the Gauteng Health Department terminated its contract with the Life Healthcare Esidimeni facility. The retired Deputy Chief Justice announced the setting up of an Alternitave Dispute Resolution process today which will determine how the families of the deceased and those impacted by the tragedy should be compensated.
