Kenya’s interest rates cap wipes Sh26bn off banks’ income

A year after Kenya passed a law capping interest rates at 4 per cent above the Central Bank rate, the banking sector is reporting income losses of up to Ksh26 billion, as analysts cut GDP growth projections for the country.
