SARB Governor Kganyago on SA’s recession & its mandate

On Tuesday the South African Reserve Bank filed an urgent application at the North Gauteng High Court to have an instruction by the Public Protector reversed. The central bank seeks to reverse the anti-graft regulator’s instruction to have the bank’s mandate of protecting the value of currency changed. On Wednesday the Reserve Bank Governor Lesetja Kganyago spoke to CNBC from Portugal about South Africa’s economy and the central bank’s mandate.
