Pastor Evan Mawarire, the mastermind of #ThisFlag campaign has been detained in Harare after a six-month exile form his homeland, Zimbabwe.
According to The Daily Maverick, Mawarire flew to the country on a scheduled flight from Johannesburg. The publication’s Simon Allison witnessed the pastor “making it to the immigration queue before being spotted and pulled aside by officials, who escorted him to an adjacent room”.

Allison subsequently commented on Twitter:
Reliably informed that Pastor Evan Mawarire has been taken to Harare Central Police Station. To be charged with subverting the govt

Mawarire was arrested last year on charges of subverting a constitutionally elected government., following widespread protests against the regime. According to a comment on Twitter, he is again charged with this.
