Africa’s agricultural exports tripled in value between 1998 and 2013, while the value of imports increased fivefold, due in part to strong growth in population and incomes and increased food demand. That’s according to the inaugural Africa Agriculture Trade Monitor Report which assesses trends and drivers of Africa’s global, intra-Africa, and intra-regional economic community trade in agricultural products.
