On Wednesday this week, the East African Community launched an energy security policy framework as it attempts to reduce electricity costs and ensure reliable supply. The policy framework, developed in partnership with the UN Economic Commission for Africa is expected to contribute towards the development of the energy infrastructure, which is critically needed to drive intra-regional trade.
