East African Community’s monetary union: Progress made so far

In November 2013, member states of the East African Community signed a protocol establishing a monetary union with the ultimate aim to establish a single currency regime by 2024. Five years on, CNBC Africa tracks the progress of the initiative with Prof. Thomas Kigabo, Chief Economist at National Bank of Rwanda.
