The National Union of Mineworkers today declared a wage dispute with the Minerals Council of South Africa. This comes as the gold wage negotiations comes to a standstill. NUM is complaining that its workers are being insulted by the mine bosses, referring to offers put on the table which are ranging from R675 for surface and underground workers and 5 per cent for artisans, miners, and officials.
