Africa’s share of robots sold in 2015 was approximately 0.2 per cent; 15 times lower than its share of GDP. In 2016 the smartphone penetration for Africa was 30 per cent compared to a 51 per cent global average, creating limitations around the penetration of more modern applications and uses for mobile technology.
