BAT sheds light on its tax battles

In the last quarter British African Tobacco was among the top performers on the JSE. The cigarette company is now facing a backlash from the South African Revenue Service for allegedly R143 million tax bill. It also plans to cut 300 jobs to fight off the illicit market while committing its full R30 million tax rebate to the #TakeBackTheTax initiative fighting the illegal trade in cigarettes.
