CA Charter seeks to speed up transformation in the sector

It’s just over 25 years since South Africa ushered in democracy with the promise of a better future for the country’s black majority. Yet everywhere members of this majority – from graduates to seasoned professionals – appear to be struggling to find this promise in an era worsened by high unemployment. One of the professions in the spotlight right now is that of Chartered Accountancy. The government has just gazetted a new code aimed at tackling the issue. What will it mean for chartered accountants everywhere?
