Internet shutdowns violate human rights, says ALT Advisory’s Michael Power

The recent high risk security incidents that have occurred in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Zimbabwe have seen the government temporarily shutting down the internet. Social media and cell phone reception had not been working during a critical time of political and economic turmoil in each of these countries. CNBC Africa is joined by Michael Power, Director of ALT Advisory for more on the legality of internet shut downs.
