COVID-19: How the pandemic has impacted investment into African start-ups
In 2019, more than a billion dollars were invested into African start-ups. While this amount has increased significantly in recent years, it is still far below investments made in the rest of the world. Access to financing therefore remains one major obstacle for African start-ups, with less than 4 per cent successfully able to finance themselves. This has been further affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, so what is the situation like for start-ups on the continent? CNBC Africa spoke to a panel of experts for more.
