In the year ended December 2020, Kenya Airways took a loan of $101.7 million from the government to fund its operations at a time the Covid-19 pandemic had hurt its cash flows. The carrier will pay an interest of $1.38 million per year on the loan. The repayment of the principal is expected at the end of the five years.
