SA retains top spot in the Absa Africa Financial Markets Index
Scoring 89 points, South Africa has retained the top spot in the latest Absa Africa Financial Markets Index. The Index evaluates financial market development in 23 countries. The 2020 edition shows that financial markets in Africa are proving robust, despite disruption from COVID-19. This is as the African continent is expected to experience its first severe recession since 1992. Joining CNBC Africa to unpack the findings is George Asante, Head of Global Markets for Regional Operations at ABSA.
