An Army spokesperson says Chad’s President Idriss Deby has died of injuries suffered on the frontline in the Sahel country’s north, where he had gone to visit soldiers battling rebels in the frontlines. His death came a day after h was declared winner of the April 11th election that would have seen Deby rule for a sixth term after 30 years in office already.
