Global consortium wins telecom license in Ethiopia
A license to operate telecommunication services in Ethiopia has been awarded to a consortium made up of Safaricom, Vodafone, Japan’s Sumitomo and UK finance agency CDC Group. The consortium plans to invest up to $8.5 billion in infrastructure among other areas adding that the industry will create up to 1.5 million job opportunities.
