Kwita Izina: Rwanda to name 24 mountain baby gorillas virtually

The promotion of domestic tourism has also been a priority for Rwanda, encouraging residents to explore the country's diverse attractions. Discounted offers for gorilla trekking experiences have been extended to December 2022 to further incentivize local tourism. The partnership between Visit Rwanda and Arsenal FC has played a pivotal role in enhancing Rwanda's visibility as a tourism destination and attracting international visitors. The decision to extend this partnership was driven by the positive outcomes achieved, including an increase in leisure tourists from key markets. Efforts to revive the tourism sector have seen a multi-faceted approach that prioritizes safety, financial support, and promotional strategies. Rwanda has implemented stringent health protocols to ensure the safety of tourists, earning recognition from global organizations like the World Travel & Tourism Council. Financial measures, such as tax policies and economic recovery funds, have been put in place to assist industry stakeholders during these challenging times. Continuous promotion of Rwanda as a tourism destination through marketing campaigns and partnerships with travel trade and media outlets is vital for sustaining visitor interest. Diversification of source markets and tourism offerings is also being emphasized to attract a broader range of travelers. New products, such as hot air balloon experiences and luxury cruising on Lake Kivu, are slated for launch to enhance Rwanda's tourism portfolio.
