Bitcoin becomes legal tender in El Salvador
The price of bitcoin touched its highest since May after El Salvador bought about $21 million of the digital currency, ahead of a plan to accept it as legal tender. Today El Salvador became first country in the world to accept bitcoin as legal tender, despite widespread domestic skepticism and international warnings of risks for consumers. CNBC Africa spoke with the CEO of Modex, Mihai Ivascu for more.
