Nigeria’s parliament resumes after annual recess

Nigeria’s lawmakers resume legislative activities today after a two-month recess. The lawmakers, before their break in July, passed some significant legislation including the Petroleum Industry Act, Electoral Amendment Act and also approved the $8.3 billion external loan request presented by President Buhari. Among other bills, the legislatures will begin deliberations on the 2022 budget.
