Rwanda seeks to up-skill its financial sector professionals

In the fast-paced world of today's financial industry, the need for professionals in the finance sector to constantly upgrade their skills and knowledge cannot be overstated. Educational institutions play a pivotal role in ensuring that those working in the financial sector are well-prepared to navigate the ever-changing landscape. Nuru Busugo, the CEO of Africa Institute for Training and Development (AITD), recently shed light on the importance of upskilling financial sector professionals, especially in the context of Rwanda's aspirations to become a prominent financial center in sub-Saharan Africa. With the government's initiative through the Kigali International Financial Center (KIFC), Rwanda is positioning itself to attract foreign investors and enhance its business environment. This necessitates a strong capacity building strategy to equip professionals with the necessary skills to thrive in the new regulatory framework. As Nuru highlighted, Rwanda has made significant strides in improving the ease of doing business for foreign investors, and fostering a conducive environment requires professionals with a diverse skill set.
