Rwanda’s Central Bank increases policy rate by 100 basis points to 6%
The National Bank of Rwanda has decided to increase the policy rate by 100 basis points to 6 per cent during the latest reading of the Monetary Policy Committee meeting results. This is the second time in a year the Central Bank is hiking the rate, citing rising inflationary pressures. CNBC Africa’s Julius Bizimungu spoke exclusively to the Bank’s Chief Economist Thierry Kalisa.
