Investec FY22 HEPS UP 25.3%

Looking ahead, Wainwright highlighted the tough macroeconomic environment in South Africa, with the country facing challenges such as being placed on the gray list by the Financial Action Task Force and the weakening of the rand. However, he expressed confidence in Investec's growth strategy, emphasizing the focus on servicing clients, expanding market share, and exploring new growth opportunities. The bank aims to capitalize on untapped markets, such as the private banking sector and the mid-market space in South Africa, by leveraging its brand and service excellence.
