Octavia Matloa, former non-executive director of Great Basin Gold, has been appointed as deputy chairman and lead independent non-executive director.
Telkom’s former managing executive of business services, Godfrey Nteole will take over as an independent non-executive director following the resignation of Village’s director, Khetiwe McClain.
[DATA VIL:Village Main Reef] stated that McClain would be pursuing opportunities related to the rehabilitation of Buffelsfontein Gold Mine, a Village subsidiary.

Dalu Ncube also resigned, to pursue personal business ventures which may cause a conflict of interest with his current role as an executive director of Village Main Reef.
The mining company added that the current restructure supports Village’s objectives of having an appropriately-sized board of directors.
Bernard Swanepoel, chairman of the board said, “We congratulate Ms Matloa on her appointment as deputy chairman and welcome Mr Ntoele to the board.”
