Adami, whose appointment will be effective from 24 February 2015, is currently executive chairman of SAB Beverages and is set to retire from his position on 31 October 2014.

“Norman is one of the most effective and astute leaders that I have ever had the privilege of working with, and his acceptance of a seat on our board is a huge compliment to Famous Brands.”
Adami retired from [DATA SAB:SABMiller] on November 30 2007 for personal reasons but returned in October 2008, once again taking on the role of managing director and chairman of SAB Ltd.
“His presence alongside our other board members, under the judicious chairmanship of Santie Botha, will serve to strengthen the Famous Brands business,” Hedderwick added.
Famous Brands recently reported revenue growth of 14 per cent to 1.57 billion rand for the six months ending 31 August 2014 from 1.37 billion rand for the same period in 2013.

“Despite constrained consumer discretionary income, management has high expectations for the forthcoming peak trading period. The foodservice sector will continue to grow, fuelled by the demand for convenience,” it had said.
“As reflected in these results, the integrated supply chain plays a vital role in underpinning the success of the brands and profitability of the business as a whole.”
