The celebration was marked by sounding the kudu horn at the opening of the markets earlier today.

“We shared the anticipation of great things to come for the country and this was the time we took the decision to pursue a listing on the JSE to enable us to successfully build and secure our very own future,” said Jens Montanana, founder and CE of [DATA DTC:Datatec].

Montanana, who founded the company in 1986, spoke of the company’s journey from establishing themselves internationally to the lessons learned from adapting the business to the internet.
Datatec started trading on the JSE in December 1994 and then listed on the London Alternative Investment Market of the London Stock Exchange in October 2006.

“Twenty years on, there is a no more appropriate place to celebrate this milestone than here at the JSE. Johannesburg is where the group started and the foundation from which we grew into a global business employing over 7,000 people in more than 60 countries,” concluded Montanana.
