City of Joburg creates inroads for better service delivery

Inefficient service delivery in the City of Joburg may soon be a thing of the past with the appointment of an ombudsman.

The city of Johannesburg has appointed its first ombudsman who will be dealing with any issues that residents of the city might raise.

Advocate Siduduzo Gumede will be taking up the position in May 2015 and is expected to operate independently and with credibility.

Gumede is only expected to deal with complaints and issues if all other avenues to handle the complaints have been exhausted, he said in an earlier interview.
