Zambia kwacha falls nearly 3 % as Greek woes hit global markets

Zambia’s kwacha tumbled nearly three per cent against the dollar on Monday as investors concerned by prospects of a v bailed out of risky assets.

The kwacha fell to 7.5700 to the greenback, its weakest since April 7 according to Thomson Reuters data.

Greece closed its banks and imposed capital controls on Sunday to check the growing strains on its crippled financial system, bringing the prospect of being forced out of the euro into plain sight.
