South Africa's nuclear regulator sees 2018 decision on Eskom sites

South Africa’s National Nuclear Regulator expects to finalise a decision by 2018 on power utility Eskom’s two new site license applications, a senior official said on Monday.

Eskom applied in March for the licenses to build new nuclear power stations, one on the east coast and another on the west coast, as part of an expansion that will generate an additional 9,600 megawatts in Africa’s most industrialised economy.
