In an appointment that lasted for even less time than South Africa’s four-day finance minister David van Rooyen, Miss Colombia, Ariadna Gutierrez on on Sunday was crowned Miss Universe for a couple of minutes after comedian and host Steve Harvey misread the envelope – side-lining Miss Philippines, Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach – the winner.

The embarrassing live television error has since been trending on social media with an abundance of memes and jokes.
