The 555 square metre store is based in West Hills Mall and stocks a range of men’s, women’s and children’s clothing as well as beauty, footwear and accessories.

“We are delighted to be able to meet our customers’ growing expectations and needs by opening a new store in a great location and we are optimistic about our future in Ghana,” said Paula Disberry, Woolworths group director of retail operations.

Disberry added that Ghana’s economic growth, rising household incomes, increasing urbanisation and a significant emerging middle class have all contributed to their expansion in the country.

“Woolworths is investing in staff development programmes with an emphasis on growing retail skills.  This is another example of our ongoing commitment to our African business as we become a leading Southern Hemisphere retailer,” said Disberry.
