<p>The Africa Export-Import Bank, or Afrexim Bank for short, is one of the partners of the Africa Investment Forum which is underway in Sandton this week. The Bank sees the Forum as important from two perspectives. On the one hand, to bring together clients and their projects and look for partners and investors to participate in these – on the other hand to invest equity and provide support. Dr Benedict Oramah, President of the Africa Export-Import Bank spoke to CNBC Africa’s Kopano Gumbi.</p>

<p>Last year, Alitheia IDF announced an ambitious goal of raising $100 million for their women-focused private equity fund. This year, Tokunboh Ishmael, principal partner at Alitheia told the African Investment Forum that they had raised $72 million and counting. At present, with Africa accounting for only 2 per cent of a $120 billion annual global chocolate market, a boost like this could help Ghana take up a larger share of the cocoa value chain.
