<p>In a glittering occasion last night a string of the continent’s most powerful and accomplished leaders were honoured at the All Africa Business Leaders Awards. Cover star for the Forbes Africa December/January Issue and President of the African Development Bank, Akinwumi Adesina spoke to Forbes Africa after being awarded African of the Year at the All African Business Awards 2019.</p>

selected by the 2019 AABLA™ Judging Committee.</p>

the All Africa Grand Finale. “I am just so happy to be here today to receive

Africa, where it began for me,” he concluded.</p>

<p>Now celebrating its 7th year, the All Africa Business Leaders Awards (AABLAs) have become synonymous with recognising the best in business leadership on the African continent and continue to grow in boldness and stature.</p>


What to expect from the 2017 AABLA awards

<p>The finalists in the <em>2016 All Africa Business Leaders Awards (<a href="http://abnproductions.us3.list-manage1.com/track/click?u=1d08c0171970b828f4fbe43f8&amp;id=43091f5ed2&amp;e=9218000239" target="_blank">AABLA</a>) in Partnership with CNBC Africa</em> were announced during a live broadcast on DStv Channel 410 on Wednesday night, marking the start of the award that will travel to East, West and Southern Africa, to recognise the best in business across the continent.<br />  <br /> The live finalists announcement on CNBC Africa brought together members of the press, key stakeholders and sponsors to reveal this years contenders for the sixth season of the awards.<br />  <br /> Working through over a hundred qualifying submissions, judges spent well over two months examining, analyzing and deliberating the candidates for 2016, narrowing it down to only a handful of business leaders per category, in each region.<br />  <br /> The 2016 AABLA finalists for each region are:</p>
