<p>The controversial amended Mining Charter – the document that guides black ownership in South Africa’s mining industry &#8211; has been put on hold to give negotiation one more chance. True to his world in the State of the Nation Address new South African president Cyril Ramaphosa has intervened and persuaded the Chamber of Mines to suspend court action that was due to start in Pretoria this morning. CNBC Africa’s Avie Mitla spoke to mining community members to solicit their views on the postponement of the Mining Charter.</p>
