Kenya Power’s pre-tax profit for the year ended June 2019 dropped by 93 per cent to $3.31 million, attributing the drop to the higher costs of buying electricity. Also, the unaudited results for the six month period ending December 31, 2019 the East African Portland Cement made $15.6 million loss after tax, with sales revenues up 8 per cent to hit. The Competition Authority of Kenya has approved the proposed acquisition of control of Gulf Energy Holdings Limited by KenoL Kobil PLC. <p>RSE listed companies have released their Q1 results. I&#038;M Bank’s profit after tax increased to Rwf6.5 billion as of December 2017, representing a 12 per cent rise from 2016 profit. Bank of Kigali&#8217;s pre-tax profit rose 22.7 per cent to $11.15 million.</p>

<p>Stanbic Bank Uganda, posted an 11 per cent drop in pre-tax profit to $36 million in the first half of 2017 compared to $40 million in the same period last year. The drop was attributed to a lower interest rate environment.</p>
