Nigeria’s former president quits ruling party


Olusegun Obasanjo, Nigeria’s former president, has quit the ruling People’s Democratic Party ahead of the March 28 elections. Obasanjo has been critical of President Jonathan. His exit is a major blow to the PDP, showing the divisions that have hit the party as it battles to extend its 15-year rule.
