Botswana responds to lawsuit filed by Russia’s Norilsk Nickel

Russia’s Norilsk Nickel is suing the Botswana government for an amount of $271 million plus damages. The company alleges it is owed the monies from the aborted sale of a 50 per cent stake in the Nkomati mine in South Africa. Botswana’s state-run BCL Mine pulled out of the deal in October last year due to lack of funds.
