Why this union believes Telkom’s retrenchment threat is a ruse to influence spectrum auction


The Communications Workers Union says it represents about 41 per cent of Telkom workforce and says the company is using retrenchment as a threat to toughen its case for a bigger spectrum allocation. CNBC Africa's Karabo Letlhatlha spoke to the president of the Communications Workers Union, Clyde Mervin and asked how the 2012 retrenchments differ to 2020.
