Rwanda FDA imposes stricter food safety regulations, gives processing industries deadline to re-register

Last June, the Rwandan Food and Drugs Authority sent a circular calling for all local food processing industries and importers of food products to start the registration of the products and licensing of their premises by the beginning of July, 2019. Now the deadline has been set to the end of March this year for it to be done, or face sanctions. CNBC Africa’s Zwena Bachoo spoke to the Director General of Rwandan FDA, Charles Karangwa for more.
