Record 6.6 million Americans file for unemployment benefits as COVID-19 crisis deepens

Data has revealed that more than 6.6 million people in the United States filed for unemployment benefits last week; this comes on the back of the country having the highest confirmed cases of Covid-19 in the world and is experiencing devastating economic repercussions from the virus outbreak.
